According to Variety Michael Rymer best known for his work on the hit show Battlestar Gallactica will be directing and producing the upcoming Withblade movie for Platinum Dunes. Platinum Dunes are working with ArcLight to bring WitchBlade to the bigscreen as you already know. Matt Hawkins one of the producers of the movie sat down and had a talk with Newsarama about the project. The key thing to them was a quality theatrical release.
"We turned down a few direct-to-DVD possibilities and held out for more of what we were looking for," said Hawkins, confirming the theatrical release plans. "I've always respected Marc [Silvestri's] position on other media development; that he'd rather there not be a film, game, or whatever than be some one-off piece of sh*t. Of course this is subjective, one man's piece of sh*t could certainly be another man's favorite film … heh. Getting a live action film going with a female lead is tough though!"
I have never read the comic but must admit the lead in the comic series sure is pirty! lets hope they get Kate Beckinsale for the role and stick her in the outfit below.
