 Plastic Man has always been a poor man's Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four or DC's alternative to Dr. Reed Richards. I'm not sure which came first but regardless Mr. Fantastic has always been the cooler guy of the two. So a movie featuring Plastic Man is not that appealing to me. But if they could somehow make Keanu Reeves look as goofy as he did when he was in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.. I would be all over it. According to CHUD, that may be the case.
Recently a reader contacted them from Berlin and tipped them off about an interview Joel Silver was having in which he mentioned that the Wachowski's were interested in doing a Plastic Man movie. Not only that but Keanu Reeves will play Eel's O'Brien (Plastic Man). Now I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you that this is a really out there claim so it is, for now, a HUGE rumor. But, boy do I hope it is true.
Of course we all know that Speed Racer completely bombed for the Wachowski's so they are looking to do something that will help them bounce back. Now I wouldn't think that Plastic Man would be the answer but they did work on a script for the film before they broke out with the Matrix. Silver apparently said that script would be the basis for the film. Only time will tell so keep it here for more.
