Last year I'm sure some of you saw Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse. Within the film they had four faux trailers, one of which was directed by Rob Zombie. His trailer harkened back to the nazisploitation films that were popular for quite some time and were mostly spearheaded by the Ilsa franchise. Today Rob Zombie announced that he was going to take his short trailer and turn it into a comic book.
"Werewolf Women of the SS is back! This time it's back as a comic book series! The wacky exploits of Commandant Hess, Lt. Boorman, Von Strasser Eva and Gretchen Krupp, Fu Manchu and even Hiltler will be coming you way. Everything you ever wanted to know about Project Pure Wolf but were afraid to ask!"
It was long rumored that the trailer would be made into a full length feature. It is my belief that no one really wants to fund a nazisploitation film for fear of exactly what happened with Grindhouse. So to show the studios that this kind of material still has an audience he is taking right back to comics. He didn't announce a publisher but he has a fairly good reputation with Dark Horse so my guess is that he will be going with them.
