Munny eBay Charity Auction Begins

An extremely talented and eclectic group of artists banded together at Atlanta Comics Expo (ACE) this past February 8-10th in support of RIF. Their resulting efforts are being auctioned off here on E-BAY so as to raise the greatest amount of Money and Awareness for RIF.

Each artist created their own custom Munny, which if you do not know, is a vinyl action figure with moveable joints produced by designer toy pioneers KidRobot. The Munny is primarily a "Do-it-Yourself" type action figure which the owner can decorate in any number of ways.

The folks running ACE asked artists to participate in 1 of 2 different categories:

1. The "Iron Munny" where artists had to create their Munny on site during the three day convention with only the supplies that they had brought with them or

2. The "Munny Gram" where Munnys were delivered to the artists a week or two before the convention and thus they were able to use a wider variety of materials (such as sculptural elements) and were also able to take a bit more time to work on the project.

100% of the net proceeds raised by these auctions will be donated to Reading is Fundamental to help support their remarkable efforts to foster children's literacy. Below is my favorite of the bunch done by Eric Powell (The Goon). Unfortunately it is out of my price range now but several of them are still very reasonable check them out here.
