Warner Bros. have just bought the feature film rights to Alexis Nolent's graphic novel "Cyclops". James Mangold has been attached to direct the film. Currently no one has been assigned to adapt the grapic novel but Kath Conrad told Variety, "This is something that Warner Bros. wants to move very quickly on. We already have a shortlist of screenwriters and will be out to people in the next week."
Set in the near future, the actioner concerns mercenary forces whose soldiers wear Cyclops-like cameras in their helmets and broadcast in real time to both central command and living rooms. One mercenary chosen to lead an elite squad begins to realize he isn't fighting for freedom and justice as much as for commerce.
This sounds like a really bad ass film. Almost like a different twist on the great flick Running Man. I'm anxious to see what kind of film that they can put together with this graphic novel in mind.
