I had never heard of the film Special until I heard about this news. According to the MTV Movies Blog Special will be getting a theatrical release from Magnolia Pictures later sometime this year. For now that is all they are telling us about the release. Starring Michael Rapaport this one looks to be really good and reminds me a lot of Hancock. Of course this film was finished before the final touches were even made to the screenplay for Hancock.
In the film Rapaport plays the lonely comic book geek with nothing better to do. That is until he decides to sign up for an experimental drug that has some adverse effect and gives him super powers. Or is it all just in his head? No one really knows but you can check out the trailer below which I think looks hilarious. Keep it here for more details on the films eventual release.
