Shazam is one of those movies that has a whole lot of potential and as many of you know I think this is a prime role for The Rock to play a major role in a comic book flick. FirstShowing caught up with Peter Segal and got the latest from him on the film. In a nut shell its not gonna be an over the top comedy and he is not trying to make the comi something it should not be. All good things.
Earlier we were able to confirm via SciFi wire the the Shazam movie is still very much alive. The director Peter Segal told them quote;
"I think it'll still happen," Segal (Get Smart) said in a group interview at WonderCon in San Francisco over the weekend.
"Though timing is going to be a key issue now, because ... normally we'd be working on a script while we're in post-production [on Get Smart], so that hopefully when we're done with post-production, we're ready to go into preproduction [on the next project].
But now we're sort of out of sync, so, unfortunately, I'll have to spend more time with my family." (That last comment was a joke.)
It has been a long while since I have heard anything about Shazam. Now for me this role would be perfect for The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson.
