Transformers 3 Gets a Name

Well, this one really comes out of left field and leaves much to be desired. Collider has learned the new title for the third and final installment in Michael “Boom Boom” Bay’s Transformers series. The name you ask? Transformers: The Dark of the Moon. Last week, we learned that the actual space shuttle Discovery would be featured in the new film, and with the news of the title, it makes you wonder if the story will take viewers out into space. But, that does little to explain the path of destruction that filming has left in the city of Chicago.

Little is known about the plot of the film, which is set to open next summer. According to the article, here’s what we know so far about the film:

Characters that die stay dead

Bay says “This one really builds to a final crescendo. It’s not three multiple endings.” He goes on to say, “As a trilogy, it really ends.  It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.”

The villain is Shockwave

The movie features a  space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA

They aim to upgrade the franchise with a more coherent story and less goofball humor

All I can hope for is that “The Twins” are no longer with us and are on a recon mission somewhere near the edge of a black hole and that wrecking ball testicles are nowhere in the film.
