Kevin Durand Set to Play The Blob?

Awhile back we learned that Wolverine would be pitted against The Blob at some point in the film. Or at least that meant that The Blob would make some kind of cameo appearance. Today FilmSchoolRejects are reporting that Kevin Durand (3:10 to Yuma) is going to be donning the fat suit to become The Blob:

“Our source inside the production tells us that Durand was “live-scanned” for The Blob a while ago, but has just officially signed on to the project in recent days. Word is that he will be heading up to his native Canada to shoot scenes for the film sometime next week. This is also important because the rest of the production is happening half way across the world in New Zealand and Australia.”

So the question arises if the entire production is going to move to Canada or is he just going to be working on green screen stuff and added to the film later? No word on that yet but as soon as we hear some official word on this casting we will let you know.
