Edgar Wright recently finished up the script to Ant-Man for Marvel right after the strike ended. Now he is working on the second draft and spoke up about the project to Empire Online, "It’s going to be less overtly comedic than anything else I’ve ever done. It’s more of a full-on action adventure sci-fi film but with a comedic element – in the same spirit of a lot of escapist fare like that. It’s certainly not a superhero spoof or pastiche and it certainly isn’t a sort of Honey I Shrunk The Kids endeavour at all.”
The question on most comic fans minds is which incarnation of Ant-Man is Edgar Wright using? The original Hank Pym or the more recent use of the character, Scott Lang? Well Wright let the cat out of the bag and told the site that he will in fact be using both! I'm not sure how he intends to pull this off but it should be interesting.
So right now he is putting the finishing touches on the script with writing partner, Joe Cornish. Apparently this will be his next film. Personally I can't wait to see what Edgar has dreamed up for this flick. I think he is one of the most talented directors out there so I'm glad he has taken the leap into superhero flicks.
