Ian McKellan is done talking about MAGNETO and instead is now talking about climbing on board for X-Men 2 to kick the bejesus out of Wolverine again. I honestly think he would make for a great villain considering his power and how quickly it turns Wolverine from enraged bad ass to silly looking dude in a yellow jump suit. He told Showbiz Spy that he is ready and waiting for a chance to be the Villain in Wolverine 2
In an interview with MoviesOnline David Goyer revealed that the possibilities of Xmen Origins Magneto becoming more then just a cool script will lay in the lap of Wolverine.
If Wolverine does well at the box office then the studio plans to greenlight David Goyers X-men prequel. If Wolverine fails to find its legs at the box office then Magneto will never come to be.
At this point with all the buzz around Wolverine I think it is a sure gone conclusion that the movie will make a crapload of cash meaning that Magneto is a sure thing. I will not be surprised to hear it gets greenlit in the coming months as buzz for Wolverine continues to grow.
