From MTV we get word that the villain for Hulk 2 has been lined up and it is none other then The Leader who made his cameo debut in the first one as Mr Blue.
I know Gale Ann was talking to you guys about that recently, and I liked hearing it,” beamed an enthusiastic Tim Blake Nelson when MTV spoke with him recently, telling us that he’s on board with Hurd’s plan to have him play the villainous Leader in the next film.
Nelson told us that during the shooting of “Leaves,” he and Norton sometimes spoke about their recent blockbuster experience, but he still can’t say with confidence that Norton will return following his rumored falling-out with Marvel Studios.
“We talked about [‘Hulk’] a little bit, yeah; we made some jokes about it,” Nelson remembered. “It’s all good, and I really do hope [the sequel] happens, for all sorts of reasons. But yeah, we did, we had a great time on ‘Hulk’ together. I’m eager to do ‘Hulk 2’ if they make it.”
I really think The Leader could be a wicked villain for the sequel but the big problem in my eyes is whether they will get Edward Norton back. Frankly he made that role what it should be. Now Liv Tyler on the other hand I can do without. As a quick flash back for those who may not have noticed the Leaders cameo... he played Mr Blue. Here is a really great break down a reader sent us of Mr Blue;;
Who is Mr. Blue? Mr. Blue's real name in the movie was Samuel Sterns and if you look that name up, you'll learn that Samuel Sterns is "The Leader." He's some super villain genius. The Hulk is his primary nemesis in comic books and whatever else he's in. I assume that is some hidden foreshadowing, along with Iron Man saying he was putting together a "team," for the Avengers movie they're making to come out in 2011. Overall it was a kick ass movie.
